The option to throw candy from a vehicle is not immediately obvious in Fortnite. It is only passengers can use their inventories while inside a vehicle, but that doesn’t mean you need someone else to assist you with this spooky task as you can do it by yourself.
As part of Fortnite’s Fortnitemares event, candies are available to consume to boost health, shield, give you thermal vision, and speed, or reduce gravity so you can leap and bound. Fortnite’s Halloween-themed quests require you to launch treats three times from your ride, so here’s everything you need to know.

There are plenty of ways to find those sweet treats in Fortnite before you can throw candy. You may get a candy treat if you ring the doorbell at any house until it breaks, and lots of residential properties around the island have buckets of treats. You can also get candy from Fortnite characters in exchange for Bars if you see them around during this Halloween event. The Zero Point Pretzel doesn’t count towards the quest, since it’s not candy.
Once you’ve got some treats, you can move on to throwing candy from a vehicle, but your inventory will disappear when you get into a ride and you will only be able to use the driving controls. Follow the Switch Seat prompt (usually clicking in the right stick) and you’ll become a passenger. Now, you can highlight candy in your inventory, hold the Aim button to shoot through windows, then throw them. If you do not have three candies to throw, you can get out and collect them before repeating the process. Throw candy from a vehicle three times in total to complete the quest in Fortnite.
