A release date for Dragonflight has not been announced, but it has been rumored for November 2022. We know that Blizzard will open sign-ups for Dragonflight alpha “in the future,” but we haven’t heard much more.
The Dragon Isles, which are divided into five zones, four leveling zones, and a special starting zone for the new Dracthyr race, continues the story of 10,000 years ago. An Evoker combines the effects of traditional magic with dragon abilities, while Dracthyrs are explicitly linked to them.
Dragonflight has a dragon-focused expansion, so there are plenty of wings and teeth to go around. Dragon riding is a new aerial mount system players can raise and customize to improve their dragon’s ability to fly. With improved momentum and skill-testing maneuvers, Dragonriding is said to be more interactive than normal mounts.
Additionally, Blizzard is overhauling Dragonflight’s user interface to improve the default experience without limiting the possibility of custom add-ons. “We want to let players decide what to show and what to hide,” says game director Ion Hazzikostas.
Also, classes and professions need to be tweaked. To start, Professions will get a work order system to help crafters find and organize commissions, and crafting in Dragonflight will have “more depth than ever before.” Classes, on the other hand, will be getting a new talent system based on a classic skill tree.
Dragonflight was recently leaked on the game’s official website after Blizzard teased a big reveal since early March. We learned a bit about the base, heroic, and epic versions of the expansion in the leak, but not much about its story.
Today, many details revealed by the leaker are confirmed, including the Dragonflight logo and cinematic screenshots.
