We are introducing Nintendo’s new computer-animated Super Mario movie.
Teen Titans Go! co-creators Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic direct [Mario], based on a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (Minions: The Rise of Gru, Lego Movie 2: The Second Part), where Mario battles Bowser, King of the Koopas.
In addition to Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach, Charlie Day plays Luigi, Jack Black plays Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key plays Toad, Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen plays Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson plays Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco plays Foreman Spike.
This is the first Super Mario film adaptation since 1993’s live-action Super Mario Bros movie. Nintendo refused to let its properties be adapted for cinematic purposes after the film’s critical and commercial failure. Still, it would eventually develop a cult following and become an underground classic.
