New Resident Evil 4 Remake Gameplay Trailer Shows Off A Classic Horror Scene

In a new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 4 Remake, one of the franchise’s scariest scenes is reimagined, and it looks even scarier.

During today’s Resident Evil showcase, the remake’s new gameplay trailer showed Leon Kennedy being surrounded by murderous villagers and stalked by a huge Ganado with a chainsaw. Characters and environments are detailed, plus gameplay and cinematic refinements add a level of realism that makes the scene more intense. Here’s what you need to know:

As a result of the intensity and claustrophobic feeling of not knowing where to turn, this scene nearly broke my determination to continue the game. In the new(ish) RE Engine, I felt palpable anxiety, and I can’t wait for the remake to palpitate the hell out of my heart again.

During the showcase, Capcom showed off more footage of returning characters like Ada Wong, Ashley Graham, and Ramon Salazar. Aside from that, the presentation confirmed that Resident Evil Tetris-style inventory will return in the remake. On March 24, 2023, Resident Evil 4 Remake launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. You can upgrade to the PS5 version for free if you get the PS4 version. A deluxe edition will have extra goodies, and a collector’s edition will have all the bells and whistles.
