Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order – Nintendo Switch First Look

It’s been a while since I played a multiplayer cooperative game. I was playing Fighting Force on PlayStation One in 2000. Unfortunately, this article isn’t about PlayStation One games. Instead, let’s check out Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order on Nintendo Switch. The first thing I noticed about this game was the cartoonish animation on the Marvel characters, whether superheroes or supervillains.

Four Points on My First Outlook

Multiplayer Co-Op Mode

The game is designed for four players to work together for one goal. As in other co-op fighting games, you’ll be tested on your work rate and teamwork, using abilities that add value to the overall goal. A character like Wolverine who’s berserk is better suited to face a supervillain like Juggernaut. Multiplayer co-operation mode adds fun to those intense boss battles with those formidable bosses. During pre-game battles, you can engage with friends or online players on battle strategies, weapon selections, and superhero selections.

Marvel Characters

There are 26 characters in the game, excluding unlockables. Each of the 26 characters has a different fighting style and ability. Spider-Man and Wolverine are also available in the game. You can also encounter top notorious supervillains like Thanos, Magneto, Wilson Fisk as the Kingpin, Electro, Dr Octopus, and many more.

Level-Up

In this game, you get to develop your superhero. By completing missions and side missions, you can upgrade your hero’s abilities and weapons.

Storyline

The story revolves around the X-Men’s environment, particularly Xavier’s academy. You’ll see super-villains like Thanos and Magneto in the storyline, which adds a bit of movie atmosphere.

Verdict

I’d definitely buy this game since I get to explore Marvel characters. It might make the game more replayable. Battles against the enemies can get repetitive, though. I think it depends on how Marvel Alliance creates the A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) for each battle that strikes a balance between the fun factor and the challenge factor.
