Truth is, there are many choices for you out there. You can burn your pocket by buying a fancy mouse. But how it could satisfy your needs is debatable. Since I’m a gamer just like you, I will share how to make the most informed decision possible.
Tip #1: Be clear about your preferred genre
In fact, there are many game genres out there. From real-time strategy games, first-person shooting, online games to action RPGs and more. If you want to shop for a new gaming mouse, keep in your mind your favorite gaming genre. Because the mouse is created differently for different types of games. If you love playing FPS games, you need a mouse with high resolution (more than 2000 dpi). While this might not be the case with RTS gamers.
Tip #2: How much cash do you have?
Budget is a real problem. Especially for players who have to burn their own money. A gaming mouse’s price can vary greatly. From as little as $20 to hundreds of dollars. Therefore, it depends on your budget, whether you will have a high-quality mouse or not. It’s common sense that the higher the price, the better the mouse. If you can afford it, you will have a better investment.
Tip #3: Be careful with your holding style
There are many different mouse holding styles of gamers. That’s why they will love a specific mouse and hate the rest. The fact is that many gamers commit the same error when they only pay attention to the price. What they forget to check is how that mouse fits their hand. If you spend hundreds of dollars to buy a good looking mouse only to find out that it doesn’t fit your hand, you’ve wasted your money.
Tip #4: See if the mouse offers other features or not
There are many benefits and features that a gaming mouse can offer nowadays. Things like on-the-fly style changes, predefined buttons, intuitive design and more. If you can get more benefits from the same amount of investment, you will take the deal, right? Just glance at the descriptions and some customer reviews and you will have the big picture.
Tip #5: With or without wires?
If you’re a typical gamer like me, your desk will be messy all the time. Usually, it’s a real pain. That’s why they invented wireless equipment. But can wireless gear offer the same quality of accuracy and feedback as wired ones? This is a debatable question. Based on experience, they can. But you’re the decision-maker here. If you like a clean desktop, choose wireless ones. If you believe that wired gears offer better quality and don’t mind doing some housekeeping, stay with them. It’s your choice.
